James Frith - Labour MP for Bury North

Welcome to my website!

I was delighted to be elected on 8th June as the new Labour MP for Bury North, covering Bury, Tottington and Ramsbottom and I promise that, whether you voted for me or not, I will always work hard for you and put your interests first in everything I do.

I am already hard at work on the issues which matter to you - we've won our fight to save Bury Walk-In Centre and I'm campaigning to re-write the GMSF and protect our precious green belt and working hard to get the best deal for Bury out of Brexit.

Check back regularly to keep up to date with what I'm doing in Bury and in Parliament - and don't forget to subscribe to receive my fortnightly e-newsletter direct to your inbox.

I was amazed to discover that closing of the vast majority of Burys library’s would not be even slightly offset by longer opening hours at the remaining main Town centre building. Not only that but the current days and hours unbelievably have been reduced. So if like most of the staff in small retail businesses around the borough your day off is Monday… well tough…it is now closed all day!. And don’t think about travelling in after work to use the service as surely it must be open later, no sorry instead it is now closing earlier apart from Thursday’s. Ah yes and that is the night when most retail workers also work late.
    Totally disgraceful and shambolic.
Bury council should hang their heads in shame in allowing our wonderful heritage to be thrown away.

Will you and Ivan Lewis please lend you support to Frank Field’s forthcoming School Holidays (Meals and Activities) Bill? I l know that we are all relatively fortunate living in Bury and we don’t see a lot of deprivation but there will be children and families who need some support on the school holidays when their meals stop. Thanks.

What are you going to do about the terrible state of the roads in Bury North before anyone else gets killed because of them .
