In response to an article in the Bury Times two weeks ago, hundreds of local people have signed up to support James Frith’s Better Buses for Bury campaign.
The campaign, launched after the public outcry over the axing of the X35 service and routine poor performance of the 472 and 474 services, aims to improve local bus services in the north of the borough.
“Hundreds of local people have responded positively to my campaign and I will ensure their voices are heard when I meet with Mayor Andy Burnham and bosses of First Bus Manchester over the next two weeks.
“Every community in Bury, Tottington and Ramsbottom deserves access to regular, reliable and affordable buses which get them where they want to go and I will continue fighting to secure these better services.”
