I have long supported the WASPI women (Women Against State Pension Inequality) affected by changes to the state pension age for women. Labour MPs have brought this issue before Parliament on several occasions in recent months but unfortunately the government has refused to change the law or introduce any measures to mitigate the impact of these changes on the women affected.
I would like to invite local 'WASPI' women to a meeting to discuss this issue with me and help determine my future work in Parliament on this issue. The meeting will be held at my offices at the Freedom Church, 35 Walmersley Road, BL9 5AE on Thursday 26th April, starting at 6pm. Registration is essential.
Whether you can attend the meeting or not, rest assured that I will continue to champion this cause and support all attempts in Parliament to secure a fairer deal for WASPI women.
